Rachel Pally ‘Ainsley’ Tunic

Rachel Pally = gorgeous, flowy dresses made of super comfortable jersey. Basically, it’s the best of both worlds–and this luxury is usually reflected in the price.
The Ainsley tunic is one of the dressier and more revealing items in Rachel Pally’s line. The yummy watermelon color will compliment any skin color, while the cut-out dolman sleeves are an unusual detail that sets this delightful number apart from your average tunic dress.
The sleeves will also give you the cool feeling of wearing a tank top, without having to expose too much of your arm. Combining sex appeal and class is an art that Rachel Pally has definitely mastered.
The hemline is definitely short. If you don’t want to give too much away, wear this versatile dress like a top, with leggings or skinny jeans. The shoe addicts among us will love creating countless combinations by pairing the tunic with stilettos, espadrilles and other deliciously leg-accentuating shoes.
Happy wearing!

Accessorize Like a London Girl

Don’t you wish your imaginary private jet could take you abroad whenever you want so that you could shop at stores that we don’t have in the US? I definitely do, now that I’m no longer living overseas and can’t shop at Accessorize, the sister store of UK clothing chain Monsoon, whenever I want.
At Accessorize, you’ll find a ton of awesome–you guessed it–accessories. I like to think of it as Claire’s with a more grown-up, chic appeal. Unfortunately, Accessorize does not yet offer delivery to the US. However, the website says that the company plans on beginning to do so soon. If you find yourself in the UK in the meantime, definitely check it out–you won’t regret it.

T Shirts Coming Up Roses

The current generation of graphic tees are so cool that I’m willing to give this garment, which I have not worn since elementary school, another shot. Celebs appear to be loving floral tees at the moment. The City’s Whitney Port recently donned an adorable rose print t-shirt, while Madonna stayed true to the rock star in her by opting for an Ed Hardy top featuring flowers.
At anywhere between $60 and $150 a pop, tops from brands like Ed Hardy are not always the most accessible. Urban Outfitters comes to the rescue, providing floral t-shirts in all the color palettes you can possibly think of, including ones mimicking Whitney and Madonna’s picks.

For an edgy look, choose a flowery motif on a dark background. Opt for florals printed on a light colored shirt if you want a more girly, delicate look. You can wear t-shirts with pretty much anything, but I suggest pairing these loose, airy styles with snug fitting bottoms such as leggings, fitted shorts or skinny jeans.

The Look: Givenchy Resort 2010

There really is nothing better than a simple pair of black pants and a crisp white shirt. Givenchy included an interpretation of this timeless combination in the 2010 Resort collection.
Needless to say, you should always have a white shirt and black pants in your closet. You can wear them year-round, layering with with heavier pieces when its cold and with a ton of colorful accessories when its warm.
Givenchy pairs these classic pieces with black leather ankle strap sandals. With new additions such as the Studded Gladiator Flats, Charlotte Russe has been on fire lately with all kinds of super sexy shoes at really great prices–perfect way to top off your Givenchy-esque look. The studs on the shoes nicely balance out the ultra-feminine ruffles on the shirt.
Wear it to work, wear it on a date–if the word “versatile” could be described with an image, this would be it.

Nivea A Touch of Shimmer

A Kiss of Shimmer Lip Care ($2.99, Nivea)
I love having a whole bunch of lip balms in my makeup bag and alternating which ones I use. I bought Nivea’s A Touch of Shimmer because I thought it would hydrate and soften my lips while adding a subtle pink shimmer. The verdict? I was really disappointed and eventually ended up tossing it.
The moisturizing effect does not seem to last more than about 20 minutes and actually ends up making your lips feel dryer than before. What’s even worse is that if your lips are even slightly chapped, bits of shimmer stay within the grooves in your lips even after you think you’ve wiped them clean–not a pretty sight. Definitely not worth your $2.99, IMHO.
