Olay Moisturinse In Shower Body Lotion with Shea Butter ($4.99, Walgreens)

I bought Olay’s In Shower Body Lotion by accident. It was one of those days; I flew into the drugstore and grabbed the first thing that looked like bodywash. When I tried to use it later that day, I could not figure out why the product wouldn’t lather. BECAUSE IT IS LOTION! Taking two seconds to read the label helps. Fortunately, this silly blunder turned out to be the biggest blessing.

This moisturizer is meant to be applied in the shower after you’ve cleansed the skin and then rinsed off. By the time you step out of the shower and dry off, your skin will be luxuriously soft and smooth. What I love is that there is no more waiting for the moisturizer to absorb before I can start getting dressed. With zero greasiness, I can put on my clothes right away and I’m ready to go. Makes me feel ahead of the game.

Alice + Olivia Velvet Leggings ($128, www.shopbop.com)

One of my most favorite Seinfeld moments is when George declared, “I would drape myself in velvet if it were socially acceptable.” Well, looks like the fashion world is beginning to embrace George’s style philosophy.

Leggings made of delicious, decadent velvet are one of the fall must-haves this year. Leggings are so comfy and versatile, but I sometimes find myself tired of the same stretchy cotton. There are times when I’m in the mood for something that is just as hassle-free but makes more of an impact.

I would wear them exactly as they are on the model–with some fabulous platform heels. These Alice + Olivia leggings are also available in black. I, personally, would go for the blue, though. I’d pair it with something white or beige on top and accessorize with some serious bling or gold.

You’re probably thinking to yourself right now that $128 is a little steep for leggings. That was my initial reaction as well. However, after giving it some thought I realized that you’ve got to spend the money if you really want to look good in velvet. If it quickly begins developing faded, worn spots, you’ll look vintage in a bad way. So, better to invest.

Jaeger London Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear

You must have a look at Jaeger’s Spring 2010 ready-to-wear line. From fabulous prints to subdued solid colors, roomy rompers to tiny sweater dresses–it is a breath of fresh air.

In the look I’ve chosen, Jaeger brilliantly pairs a long sleeved blouse with gray cocktail shorts. Let me begin by saying that a great blouse is an investment piece for this season. It can easily be part of your office wardrobe during the week and a layering piece under funky vests and jackets for more laid-back weekend looks.

You can tailor this look for fall by choosing tweed winter shorts as opposed to ones made of lighter fabrics like silk or satin. If you throw on a pair of tights under the shorts, this look can even carry you through winter (just be sure to get a good jacket!) A sturdy leather or suede belt can take a pair of shorts up a notch, giving them definition and a sharper look.

If you are not a fan of peep toe booties, you can easily pull off this look with tall boots. Over-the-knee boots are this season’s shoe obsession and they would also work really well with this look. If this is the direction in which you want to take your Jaeger-inspired outfit, choose either tighter-fitting shorts that end above the knee or looser, Harem-style shorts that reach the knee.

Tiffany's Key Collection

Tiffany's Keys Collection

I have been salivating over Tiffany’s exquisite Keys Collection since it was released earlier this year. With silver, gold, platinum and diamond key designs to choose from, I get the biggest adrenaline rush just by looking at them.

Yesterday, I landed upon the Sears’s website. Now, I have to admit, I am not a Sears shopper. I might find myself there if my dad needs a lawn mower..Imagine my surprise when I saw that Sears currently has some pretty nifty key jewelry. Made me reconsider my snotty attitude!

Have a peek at what I thought were the best of the bunch (and also some heart and key pieces that I couldn’t resist including):

Diamond Heart Key Pendant. 10k Yellow Gold ($127.49, Sears) Stylish Two-Tone Clover Top Key Pendant ($169.99, Sears) Diamond and 10K White Gold Key Pendant ($99.99, Sears)

Ok, this post will be a quickie. Just wanted to share that  my seemingly never-ending search for the perfect pink lip gloss has come to an end. I wanted something in the pinkest shade possible and without glitter.

If this sounds like what you’re looking for as well, try Wet n Wild’s MegaSlicks lip gloss in Sinless (# 578). It does have a pearly shimmer, as you can probably see in the photo below, but not actual sparkles (hate those, my lips are not a discoball). They should call this color “Flawless.”

Added bonus: it is not a budget breaker. Finding the perfect lip gloss that only costs $1.99 is not easy. If you haven’t tried this line yet, do it.

Never Too Early to Start Shopping for Warm Jackets

Is the weather starting to get gross where you guys are? It definitely is in my neck of the woods. It’s been gray, rainy and chilly here for the past couple of days. If nothing else, this turn of events has inspired me to start checking out fall and winter jackets. My first destination–Burlington Coat Factory, which I’m sure many of you have heard of. You can snag some major deals there (and not just on coats! A couple of years ago I got the cutest PJs there for about $3.)

The problem is finding a BCF store close to you; my nearest one is at least an hour away. Fortunately, their website provides a pretty awesome sampler of the outerwear they carry, such as pea coats, athletic jackets, light fall jackets, those cute puffy vests and more. I definitely recommend you check out they’ve got before committing yourself to buying a jacket elsewhere–you could save yourself a good $100 or so.¬† Of what I saw (some faves pictured below), I really loved the sporty-chic M60 Miss Sixty coats.
