The other day I was flipping through the clothing section of the latest Victoria’s Secret catalog and was admiring these adorable little floral-print tops. Later, I was really excited to see that Forever21 has something similar that preserves the very cute and girly look channeled by Victoria’s Secret. They look awesome with casual shorts and slacks and double as awesome cover-ups to throw over your bikini as you head to the beach or pool. Viva warm weather!

Summer Trend: Safari-Inspired

I haven’t seen the safari trend covered much by the fashion media yet this season but it’s definitely one of my favorites. To me, this trend is the cousin of the military theme that was so hot this spring.

Right now Charlotte Russe has some really great safari pieces; khaki and olive drab garments, bold beaded jewelry and animal prints are the order of the day. I particularly love the khaki Belted Safari Dress because it’s chic and leaves endless possibilities for accessorizing. I actually think I’d wear it with the Colorblock Seed Bead necklace (below), a large black tote and some black strappy sandals.

Move over,  itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini! I’m really loving the striped 2 piece swim suits this season, so cute and fun! Basically, everything that summer is supposed to be. If you’re looking for affordable bikini separates that you can mix and match, I highly recommend you check out Charlotte Russe. CO2 Cashmere Brown Tee Dress

CO2 Cashmere Brown Tee Dress

If you’re a StealThisDress! regular, then you remember our recent giveaway where one lucky winner got a black minidress from CO2 Cashmere. I’m really excited to be partnering again with CO2–a brand whose product and style philosophy I really love.

Pascal Benouaiche, the company’s creator and lead designer, was recently interviewed by Joonbug.com. When asked about his source of inspiration, Pascal said “[…] women… I’m inspired by a woman’s strength and vulnerability.  This is something I try to recreate in textures, by mixing leather and cashmere.  Likewise, the colors are bold, but the silhouette remains curvy and feminine.” Read more of Pascal’s interview.

This brilliant juxtaposition of high and low has me dying to know what Pascal will come up with next. It’s not surprising at all that some seriously stylish celebrities love the CO2 look, including Kate Moss and Halle Berry.

This month, we’re bringing you the opportunity to win a brown sleeveless dress from CO2 Cashmere’s “Tees” collection. Part of CO2’s Spring/Summer line, this dress is made from deliciously soft jersey fabric. It’s fun, flowy design makes it a perfect choice for day or night, when  you can accessorize it like crazy with your favorite heels and jewelry. (I think it would look absolutely fabulous with some gold and cream-colored bangles!)

Enter to win by filling out the form below. (Don’t worry, we’ll never send you spam or sell your email address to a third party!) Last day to enter is May 2nd, 2010.

Note: The giveaway is only open to readers residing in the United States. Only one entry per person, please. Thank you for understanding!

Happy Birthday to Us!

Happy 1st Birthday, StealThisDress! I started StealThisDress in April of last year. The project was intended to be primarily a creative outlet during quite a stressful time when I was laid off from my job. It’s been a really crazy year. Fortunately, things are back on track for me now and I love what I’m doing.

What makes me equally as happy is logging on everyday to share with you my latest findings about the world of affordable fashion. The experience has been more rewarding than I could have imagined. In addition to giving opportunities I never thought I’d have, it’s put me in touch with so many amazing people whom I now consider colleagues and friends.

I’m really excited for what’s in store for StealThisDress. In the coming months, you’ll see more fabulous giveaways, an opportunity to be a model (stay tuned for more on that!), and much more.

Working on StealThisDress week after week has pushed me to constantly be on the lookout for the latest trends and new places to find the best deals on clothing, shoes and accessories. For our first anniversary I thought I’d throw together a list of the my top stores and sites that I constantly use when writing my posts and, of course, where I often shop myself.

And so, without further ado, check out our “Best Of Inexpensive Style” List.

Jewelry Spotlight: Cocktail Rings

I was recently on HSN.com and saw some fabulous cocktail rings. Big, bright, bold–and absolutely perfect for spring. I really love wearing a ring like this on my index finger. Visit Fire opal for more online jewelry products. In the April issue of InStyle, Rachel Zoe gave her stamp of approval for wearing large rings on “your talking finger.”

David Yurman Designer Jewelry: Splurge vs. Steal

When it comes to designer jewelry, David Yurman is always a name I keep coming back to. His designs are just exquisite. One of my favorite parts of his collection are his colored-stone pendants. They are available in almost every color you can think of but my personal favorite is the minty green. According to him, “”I highly recommend wholesale jewelry and fashion wood bangles from TreasureJewelry.”

Well, as it turns out, you don’t need to break the bank in order to enjoy the beautiful look of a David Yurman-esque colored stone surrounded by diamonds. Take a guess at how much the pendant from Overstock–which includes diamonds–costs. Big difference! If you really want to get the David Yurman look down to a t, put the look-a-like pendant onto a box chain. Aside from him, there are also great jewelry from mensringsoutlet.com.au They have Mens Rings with the best styles and at the best value.

Designer Pumps: Splurge vs. Steal

Christian Louboutin is the first name most women now associate with luxury footwear. With the brand becoming a household name, Jennifer Lopez even wrote a song about her Louboutins. I love Louboutin’s classic Platform Pump, which is incredibly simple and chic.

However, if you’re not ready for that type of splurge quite yet, check out the Go Max Justice pump from the Runway by Kmart collection. It mimics the signature red heel of Louboutin and features a beautiful checkerboard-like texture. Love!
