DSquared Fall-Winter 2009

DSquared Fall-Winter 2009

I realize that for us mortals it may seem way too early to be thinking about fall and winter clothes. But when I saw this outfit from the DSquared Fall-Winter 2009 show, I couldn’t resist including it! This combination has the art of effortless layering down to a T.

The boyfriend blazer is causing a lot of commotion these days and I’m seeing a lot of women using it to add an androgynous touch to their style. This is the first time I see the blazer worn with a skirt–a fabulous idea. Whether you roll the sleeves up like DSquared has or leave them down, there are a lot of  different looks to be created with menswear-inspired blazers.

Fortunately, leggings and animal prints haven’t yet made it onto the “Out” list. I’m nowhere near ready to let go of these trends yet. The sporty gray leggings and leopard print pumps are a great way to pull off a denim mini skirt during the day without revealing too much.

I’m also happy to see that the slouchy beanie is getting the attention it deserves. Finally, a hat that keeps you warm AND looks good. This rare find appears to be the answer for those of us who have a difficult relationship with hats.
