Ashley Tisdale’s Glam Rock Style

Ashley Tisdale

Ashley Tisdale

I’ve never watched the High School Musical series. What I can tell, though, is that Ashley Tisdale’s Disney days may be coming to a close. She’s released an album, which I have to say I like! I really like “Crank It Up,” which has a sick beat.

Ashley Tisdale’s style is pretty edgy; I often see pictures of her wearing combat boots or something with studs. I really like how, in this look, she takes a really laid-back and casual combination (leather jacket, printed tee, hoodie, and ripped jeans) and gives it a touch of sleek with black peep-toe booties. Awesome!

As we all begin putting our peacoats and bomber jackets back in the closet until next year (yes!), a hoodie under a jacket is perfect for this time of year. It may be beautiful during the day right now but at night time temperatures drop really quickly and you can freeze your bum off in a minute. Hence, layers are key.

P.S. Anybody else love Ashley Tisdale as a brunette?

Stealing Brooklyn Decker’s Style

Brooklyn Decker

Brooklyn Decker

Ah, the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. If this title doesn’t make you a goddess, nothing will. Brooklyn Decker is exactly that. Tall, never-ending legs, flowing blond hair–the girl’s got it all. And she doesn’t seem to lack style savvy either.

I really loved one of her recent outfits. A simple black mini-dress, grey peep-toe booties and an unembellished gray handbag make for a put-together look that does not scream “this outfit required hours of maintenance.” What’s even better news for us is that you can easily find all of these staples for a fraction of the cost.

If you are shy about showing off your legs, you can still totally pull off this Brooklyn Decker-inspired look by opting for a dress that ends more towards the knees. Just be sure to choose one that is fitted. An a-line dress that flares out at the bottom is not the best garment to pair with an ankle boot. If you do go with a looser cut, wear it with boots that reach the calf or higher.

Keep in mind that this little number may just get you on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Bottega Veneta Fall 2009 Ready to Wear Collection: Bringing the Drama

If you are searching for an outfit that screams DRAMA, look no further than the Bottega Veneta Fall 2009 Ready to Wear collection.

You can definitely still do strapless bustier-style dresses in the fall. All you have to do is throw an elegant pea coat over it. As far as the “no white after Labor Day” rule–it primarily applies to shoes. However, people often get shy about wearing white garments during the colder seasons. But this need not be the case. Just stick with whites when selecting your coat. The result will be a dazzling, winter wonderland-esque ensemble.

Now, on to the accessories. A ruffled purse gives this otherwise sleek, clean look a punch of texture. The lace-up ankle booties (and just a bit of sock peeking over the top) add a touch of vintage femininity. The black, on the other hand, provides the look with edge. Overall, this Bottega Veneta combination is a brilliant mix of several aesthetics.

Take this already unstoppable look to the next level with strong red lips and a vintage-inspired hairdo. Vavavoom!

Hungry for Hermes

Hermes Fall 2009 Ready to Wear Collection

Hermes Fall 2009 Ready to Wear Collection

For the last couple of years, I’ve found myself anxiously waiting for the Hermes fall collection. Filled with fabulous pieces that appeal to one’s fantasy, it never disappoints. While I usually find myself drawn to the rich color palette often used by Hermes, I’ve chosen something far more reserved–yet equally stunning–for this week’s look from the runway.

This fall, look to sleek, off the shoulder and one sleeved designs. There is something deliciously mysterious in keeping one arm completely hidden while fully revealing the other. The experts at Hermes cinch the dress at the waist with a black belt, whose tough texture stands out against the delicate fabric of the dress.

Hermes makes it known that ankle booties are sticking around this year, pairing it with sheer black pantyhose. While it is still warm enough, you can skip the hose and show off those legs. The ankle boots with skirts and bare legs look has been frequently spotted around Hollywood lately.

Put together, these three pieces make for a sharp, ‘stop ’em dead in their tracks’ look. Just what we’d expect from Hermes.
