Croco rainboots are my new obsession. I think it’s a genuis idea to use a croco embossed texture, which we often see on designer handbags, on a functional shoe. It instantly gives the black rubber boots a touch of city-chic. I could easily see these croco boots with jeans and a cute cardigan, without worrying about how they affect the overall look of the outfit.
Love, love Deena & Ozzy! By far, my favorite designer available at Urban Outfitters. Check out some of their stuff, below. How fierce is that Faux Fur Hood? Talk about channeling Russian glamour. Keep it coming, D & O!
I love purple. It doesn’t surprise me at all that it used to be considered the color of royalty in the old world.
Looking through pictures of Carolina Herrera’s fall 2009 ready-to-wear show, my favorite outfit was, hands down, the one pictured here. How gorgeous is that shade of purple? I think that this is a perfect outfit for a holiday party, maybe even with a sleeveless dress as pictured below.
Wear the dress with black footed tights and jeweled flats if you want to channel the look that went down the runway at the Carolina Herrera show. If you want to give it your own twist, try jeweled pumps, closed or peep toe.
For your handbag, choose a clutch or shoulder bag in a different shade of purple for that “different yet harmonious” look. Keep the jewelry to a minimum since this look already contains plenty of jewels.
The current generation of graphic tees are so cool that I’m willing to give this garment, which I have not worn since elementary school, another shot. Celebs appear to be loving floral tees at the moment. The City’s Whitney Port recently donned an adorable rose print t-shirt, while Madonna stayed true to the rock star in her by opting for an Ed Hardy top featuring flowers.
At anywhere between $60 and $150 a pop, tops from brands like Ed Hardy are not always the most accessible. Urban Outfitters comes to the rescue, providing floral t-shirts in all the color palettes you can possibly think of, including ones mimicking Whitney and Madonna’s picks.
For an edgy look, choose a flowery motif on a dark background. Opt for florals printed on a light colored shirt if you want a more girly, delicate look. You can wear t-shirts with pretty much anything, but I suggest pairing these loose, airy styles with snug fitting bottoms such as leggings, fitted shorts or skinny jeans.
Long flights are a drag. Squeezing yourself into that tiny seat, the stuffiness–unless you’re Victoria Beckham, this is not the ideal environment for wearing heels and a cocktail dress. So how can one avoid looking blah while traveling?
Transformers star Megan Fox manages to pull off being comfortable at the airport without sacrificing style. The key here is definitely to layer. A comfy cardigan worn over a tank looks cute and allows you to stay comfortable as you move from the freezing airplane to the hot temperature outside. To keep an airport look from looking overly pajama-like, add one dressy element such as embellished flats.
Don’t forget accessories, which can both earn you more style points AND make the look more functional. In addition to creating a funky, laid-back look, a pair of aviators and a fedora are very useful for hiding a make-up free face and airplane hair.
Don’t be surprised if this look gets you noticed at the airport. Just don’t pull a Megan and reject any cute little boys that try to give you flowers.
Say what you want about The Hills, but I still tune in every week to see what the ladies of MTV’s LA-based reality show are wearing. Of all the cast members, Audrina’s style would have to be my favorite. Every time I see her, she manages to look comfortable yet incredibly stylish. [Read more…]
I realize that for us mortals it may seem way too early to be thinking about fall and winter clothes. But when I saw this outfit from the DSquared Fall-Winter 2009 show, I couldn’t resist including it! This combination has the art of effortless layering down to a T. [Read more…]
