Vivaciously Versace: Getting the Look for Less

Versace 2009 Spring Collection

Versace 2009 Spring Collection

I find this outfit from Versace’s 2009 Spring Ready-to-Wear collection to be so stunning. Simplicity appears to be the order of the day, with emphasis on clean, sleek lines and not many intricate details. There is something very city-chic about this Versace masterpiece and I’d wear it in a heartbeat.

I think the idea of cropped satin pants is great, injecting glamor into a very practical design. I love this particular pair from Banana Republic, which comes in a champagne color. I don’t see the color as being problematic for this Versace-inspired look. In fact, I think champagne puts a new twist on it, however if needed a black version is definitely easy enough to find.

You can’t go wrong with a white  blazer. The shiny satin can be paired with a number of other fabrics to produce a fabulous contrast. To me, adding white to any combination of pieces is a sure way to make an outfit “party in South Beach” worthy.

Use a skinny white belt to bring the blazer in at the waist–a look that flatters all body types.

Finally, the shoes–often the funnest part! I’m seeing platform and wedge sandals everywhere these days. I can’t get enough of them–they complement tanned summer legs so nicely!

  1. Fashion freak says:

After seeing this photo, I ran out and bought satin capris and a white linen blazer. I wore them with purple patent leather pumps to a cocktail party and everybody was complimenting my killer outfit!

  2. As far as I see it, one can never go wrong with Versace’s Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter collections.

    Beautiful!
